The construction industry with its wide array of customers, huge workforce, reliance on both renewable and non renewable resources and highly visible output impacts on the lives of every citizen locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
Cruden Group understands that environment, health and safety, training, equality and diversity, inclusion, sustainability and helping build communities are important issues to our clients and employees alike. We are focused on improving performance in each area through targeted investment programmes, training and knowledge transfer.
On environmental matters we have focused our efforts to achieve accreditation under ISO 14001 for our Environmental Management System which now guides our processes to improve performance in reducing waste, recycling and re-using. Considerable investment in health and safety training ensures we provide all employees with the skills and knowledge to deliver safe construction sites.
Our investment in people provides a supportive working environment to develop core skills and talents throughout the group, which subsequently is directly passed to our clients. People are promoted according to their talents and a number of our senior management started their careers in Cruden as apprentices or operatives. Our investment in people extends to ensuring that where possible we employ operatives as sub contractors from the communities in which we are working. These people are able to contribute to successful project delivery and participate in training and apprenticeship programmes organised locally which develop life long employable skills.
A genuine respect for people underpins our approach. We make every effort to go beyond our legislative responsibilities on equal opportunities promoting a culture which values diversity and provides access to opportunity for all.
This is reflected in our very high levels staff retention within our business (> 97% per annum)
